How I Became BETTIE’s Dog Mom:
I am a volunteer for Coastal Poodle Rescue, and also always check out their adoption page "just to look." Well, I ADORE seniors and my husband and I decided Bettie needed to be a part of our family.
BETTIE’s Favorite Toys:
Small edible Nylabones and yummy Greenies!
BETTIE’s Favorite Places To Visit:
She came to work with me when I managed a store in the Aventura Mall and she was quite a hit. Sometimes Bettie would get all dressed up for work too!
My Special Connection With BETTIE:
Bettie was very calm, yet quite a tough little cookie. She was going blind, and if she happened to fall down, she would get right back up without whining or complaining. I think humans could learn from her resilience! Bettie was brave and sweet.
Saying Good Bye To BETTIE:
Bettie had cancer when we adopted her. She was given 6 months to live by her previous vet. Thanks to our wonderful holistic vet, she lived a full 3 years with us. All thanks to special herbs and supplements. But approximately around age 13, her kidneys started to shut down, and we knew it was soon going to be time for her to leave us. We were grateful for the years we had together with her. But it was still very, very difficult, as Bettie was the first dog I ever had to make that difficult decision for.
To BETTIE Across The Rainbow Bridge:
Bettie you were one of the most inspirational creatures I ever met. I am so fortunate to have had you with us for as long as we did. You were one tough little lady, and we adored you!
